Many of the speakers for these events enjoy national and, in some cases, international reputations, for being eminently qualified to speak on their subject matter. Biographies of many of our past speakers will be posted in the near future.

Monthly Meeting Events - Most recent to Earliest

April 2013. Second Event. Jason Torpy spoke on a range of issues related to the atheist, humanist, and general nontheist community, especially as these issues relate to the military. 

April 2013. Herb Silverman recalled his experience as a professor of mathematics and candidate for office in South Carolina with humor and resignation.

March 2013. Chris Mooney used cutting-edge research to explain the psychology behind why today’s Republicans reject reality—it's just part of who they are. See video.

February 2013. Dr. Jay Quade spoke on human evolution in honor of Darwin Day, Mr. Roy Speckhart spoke about the need for a fresh approach for the humanists, and Ms. Maggie Ardiente spoke about promoting humanism and atheism at a national level.

January 2013. Drs. Richard Johnson and Gilbert Shapiro offered two talks: Richard about his latest book, The Human Identity Problem: How God became the centerpiece of a world view. Gil gave a lecture titled Faith–The Greatest Imposter.

November 2012. Dr. Darrel Ray spoke about how religion effects our attitudes about sex. His talk and slide show emphasized the guilt and embarrassment most of us share.

October 2012. Kevin Bonine spoke about the Gila Monster in our Sonoran desert. See video.
